There are a number of scenic walks in and around East Bridgford and along the river Trent. Many of these are circular and can start and end conveniently at the Royal Oak. There are also many footpaths and bridleways that crisscross the village enabling you walk around without using the roads. The network of paths within the village are locally called "twitchels" and probably originate from the routes that farm workers used to get to and from the fields.
